Scottish Winter School in Glasgow
29th December 2005 – 2nd January 2006

Glasgow Youth Hostel, 7-8 Park Terrace, Glasgow G3 6BY

Once again, it is time to plan ahead and book early for this year’s Scottish Winter School. It promises an abundance of inspirational speakers focusing on delivering interesting informative short talks. It will create the opportunity for us to participate in workshops where we will be offered the chance to work together, deepening our faith and understanding, unlocking the doors and revealing the mysteries of life, the universe and everything in between. God willing we will have loads of fun and a good laugh too …… could we have captured a little of your imagination …… great stuff …… then get on your phones, computers and email, or send a good old-fashioned letter – and book early.

There are sacrifices and blessings involved in creating a great winter school – so sacrifice your time and energy and bless us with your presence – you won’t be disappointed.

If you’re reading this and thinking will I, can I afford the time, or even the money, please don’t let the lack of funding be an obstacle. If you can’t afford the full cost of the school some sponsorship is available (contact your Bahá’í Council or LSA for details).
Accommodation consists of 4, 6, or 8 single bunk bed rooms with en suite shower facilities. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in the cost.
Sessions will take place in the hostel which the Bahá’ís have the exclusive use of. Sorry but the venue does not yet accommodate wheelchair access. We are sincerely disappointed about this situation.

Photographs including images of children under 18

Readers are reminded of the National Assembly’s policy on photographs of children.
For up to five children, photographs where children are recognisable require explicit parental/guardian permission for publication in the printed newsletter and its on-line edition. The only exceptions to this ruling are:
  • Group photographs where individual children cannot easily be identified in the final printed image.
  • When photographs are sent in by the parent/guardian of the child(ren) permission is implied.
  • When the Editor is able to ensure that the child cannot be identified, e.g. by blurring, half-toning, image size reduction, etc. (the least preferred option).
(To avoid confusion, could anyone sending in an image in which the youth are all over 18, confirm this in the accompanying letter/email.)
Permissions must be by letter, or email from a permanent email address, addressed to the Editor (address & e-mail address inside front cover) who will retain them in the newsletter archives.
Photographs that do not conform to the above guidelines cannot be used – Ed.
